Gabriel Martinelli’s goal, right at the start of the second half, was enough for Arsenal to earn all three points from a dominant, if not full-flowing, performance at the King Power Stadium.
The Brazilian - back into the starting line up - latched onto a wonderful Leandro Trossard pass before squeezing his shot home.
Trossard himself thought he had given us the lead in the first half, only for the goal to be ruled out for a foul on the goalkeeper after a VAR review.
It was a well deserved win, on an afternoon when we restricted the home side to just one shot, and takes us five points clear at the top, before Man City’s game later in the day.

Btw I’m gutted for Trossard, he scores the winning goal against Brentford but then they manage to equalise a goal that should’ve been ruled off as offside. Now he scores a beautiful goal and it gets ruled out for the bare minimum. The assist was magical though! What a bargain he is, absolute baller. Love him 🫶🏽!! And imagine how tired we all are of these refs and VAR, trying their best to stop us.

@M Yep this is exactly it. Consistency in VAR is all we ask for, but english referees are incapable of providing that. We're in a title race, it's obviously gonna matter a lot when referees "forget" to draw offside lines or fail to show any consistency in their calls whatsoever.

@zen Yeah I understand that it’s a foul, any contact on the keeper is a foul but how come when Ramsdale was getting manhandled by Kamara (which was worse) earlier this season, then it's a perfectly fine goal. And then Saka should’ve had a penalty bare minutes after. This is the issue, we want consistency, & lately a lot of calls have incorrectly gone against us, which matters (especially in a title race). It’s ridiculous! :)

White is clearly impeding on Wards ability to punch the ball away properly or try catch it. Great spot by VAR. My main issue is that that goal was disallowed yet the Saka penalty wasn’t given.

@M You're completely right, but White did still commit a foul. There's a lot to complain about the refereeing on this game, but that goal shouldn't have stood, and it was the correct call. Consistency is what we wish for, though.

It’s crazy that Martinelli was the only player who got booked during this game for the bare minimum too especially when Leicester players did the same more and less and ended up not getting booked. How they’ve got no yellow cards is beyond me. For instance, we had two yellow card challenges on Xhaka within 1 minute yet no yellow card shown. The inconsistency is insane. But either ways, yes thankfully we still came out with 3 points. I think questions should still be asked regarding these calls, all we ask for is consistency.

Jorginho and Troussard are superb, both fit in well in the team. Jorginho was important to slow the game down when leicester were pressing. Also his passing is so nice.

Starting Trossard allowed Martinelli to play better.(Not saying Nketiah shouldn’t start) But it clearly helped us and helped Martinelli switch easily from LW to St whenever he sees the opportunity. Unlike having Nketiah playing with Martinelli.. Well played Trossard..

So VAR meticulously spots Ben White holding Ward, but turns a blind eye when Saka was pulled to ground? This is getting ridiculous. Kudos to the team for winning and keeping a clean sheet intact. Jorginho seems a bit shaky at times but he's played some really impressive passes, so I am pretty sure he's only going to get better! All in all, it's another solid gameweek!

@Yaw Owusu Saka was not offside, but Martinelli was. Martinelli was passing the ball to Saka. But if you observe correctly, Martinelli was onside with the last defender.

Sick and tired of these refs, honestly. "Forgot" to draw the lines after the opposition goals, but never forget for cherry picking after we scored a good goal. That Saka goal should have gone to VAR to check whether Martinelli was truly offside, rather than just call it offside. Saka should have had a penalty and Trossard's goal should have stood. Ndidi should also have been booked for stamping on Martinelli. But thank God we still came out with 3 points despite all the major decisions going against us.

Hard-fought three points. Again silencing the haters and one step closer. Should have been 0-3 but he, English refs... Trossard what a great game. Some, most fans were crying we didn't get Mudryk.
